Mobile dental braces orthodontic treatment
There are several types of mobile dental braces...
(for one or both jaws) but what they all have in common is that patients can place them and remove them autonomously. They are used for jaw repositioning and teeth alignment and are usually made for our little patients who still have milk teeth. They are usually prescribed during the first stage of an orthodontic therapy until the appearance of permanent teeth after which the treatment is continued using fixed orthodontic braces.
It is necessary to underline that the success of the therapy depends on the patient’s discipline and the patient’s ability to follow the instructions correctly as well as on the regular use of the braces.
Mobile dental braces should be worn for at least 8 hours every day, depending on the problem.
Check ups are done every 6 to 8 weeks when the braces are adjusted.
Mobile dental braces treatment usually takes around 12 months up to 2 years and is then followed by a fixed orthodontic braces treatment.
Mobile braces sometimes have a small screw. By turning the screw the braces are widened which causes teeth movement and dental arch expansion. It is very important to wear the braces with conscious and on a regular basis since it is the only way to achieve the desired results.
Mobile braces need to be washed thoroughly and dried after every use so as to avoid limescale building-up.
